Stuart Weiss

Stuart started his career in athletics after he retired from the Tampa Police Department. For the past 17 years he has been enjoying coaching at the varsity level. In 2012, Stuart was elected the President of the SSAA by the conference membership. During his tenure, the SSAA has grown from (7) member schools in just varsity football, to the current 160+ member schools across 12 sports. Stuart is a graduate of Liberty University and is married to his wife, Joanna. He has five boys: Luke, Jacob, Zachary, Jackson and John Carter.

Megan Ziegelhofer

Athletic Director: Mount Dora Christian Academy

Megan Ziegelhofer, known as "Coach Z" to most in the community, has served as the Director of Athletics at Mount Dora Christian Academy since 2017. Prior to that she worked as an elementary & secondary physical education teacher and was the Assistant Director of Athletics. Megan has spent her entire career in youth and highschool athletics. A graduate of Seminole High School in Sanford, FL where she excelled as a student-athlete earning an athletic scholarship to play college softball at Seminole State College. After a career ending injury, Megan decided to finish her degree at Keiser University where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology. From 2010-2022 Megan has served the youth community as a football commissioner and president for two large youth football and cheerleading organizations. Megan is extremely passionate about developing student-athletes. The vision for the MDCA program is to develop the whole student-athlete spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically, and socially through athletics while competing at a high level. Megan is also very passionate about college athletics and getting student-athletes to the next level. Currently 36% of the student-athletes who have graduated from MDCA in the past 5 years are playing on college rosters across the country.


Personal: Megan is married to Steven Ziegelhofer and has three sons Eddie (18), Fischer (15), and Braxton (5).

Mark Marsala

Mark comes to the SSAA with over 32 years of athletic coaching and administration experience at the high school level in Florida.

Mark served as the Athletic Director at the Seacrest Country Day School in Naples Florida, as well as at St. John Neumann High School and South Fort Myers High School over the past 26 years. Along with his experience as an Athletic Director, he brings extensive experience in the high school athletic association area. Mark served with the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) as President of the Board of Directors (2015-2017), as well as, the Chairman of Operations for the Board of Directors, a Board of Directors Member, a Section Appeals Committee Member, a Representative Assembly Member, and a Sports Medicine Advisory Committee Member. Mark also has served with the Florida Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (FIAAA) and as the President of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference.


Mark graduated from Kean University with a Bachelors in Management Science and from Nova Southeastern with a Masters in Physical Education. He is married to his wife Jennifer and has 3 children, Mark, Meghan, and Marissa, as well as grandson, Lorenzo.

Greg Zugrave teaches history, served as the History Department Chair and has been the head boys varsity basketball at Saint Edwards School in Vero Beach FL for the past five years. Greg received his BA from Hiram College, where he played basketball and served as an assistant coach. Greg went on to earn an MA in History at the University of North Carolina Wilmington where he served as an academic coordinator for the athletic department.

Greg received his BA from Hiram College, where he played basketball and served as an assistant coach. Greg went on to earn an MA in History at the University of North Carolina Wilmington where he served as an academic coordinator for the athletic department.

Don Birdsall

Athletic Director - First Academy - Leesburg

Term Expires: 2027

Don Birdsall has served as the Athletic Director at First Academy - Leesburg since the school began its high school athletic program 23 years ago. He has taught at FA-Leesburg for 24 years, working as a PE teacher, science teacher, and Bible teacher. Throughout the years, he has coached girls and boys basketball, soccer, cross country, and track and field. He was one of the founders of the SSAC, now SSAA. He is passionate about teaching and coaching the students at FA-Leesburg and loves being a part of the FAmily. He has served as an FHSAA representative, on the SSAA advisory board, and as the SSAA appeals committee chair.


Above all, he is passionate about serving God as He leads him as a husband to his wife, Amy, and as a father to his three daughters, Maelynn, Madison, and Jadan.

Jacob Spenn

Jacob Spenn is the athletic director and head football coach at Sarasota Christian. He is in his third year as an AD in Florida but prior to moving to Florida he worked for 15 years at Cypress Christian School in Texas. He served in various roles over that time including assistant AD, head football coach and other administrate roles over his time there. In Texas he was involved with TAPPS which is very similar in its goal and mission to the SSAA. Spenn is a graduate of Taylor University where played football and has a masters degree from the University of Illinois in Civil Engineering. He worked as an engineer prior to getting into athletics administration. He and his wife, Bethany, along with their 5 kids live in Sarasota.
