What Our Member Say

Hear from athletic directors, administrators, and member schools across Florida about their experience with the Sunshine State Athletic Association and the value SSAA brings through competition, service, and support.
"During my 5 years at Shorecrest our football team has been a member of the SSAA. Professional, responsive and caring are words that come to mind when I think about my interactions with the conference. Along with the aforementioned traits, the SSAA’s student first approach will insure Shorecrest’s continued membership"

— Anthony McCall, Athletic Director

Shorecrest Prep

“Our school has been a member of the SSAA for 11-man football for 3 years now. The staff is amazing and easy to work with and has been instrumental in helping our school find like teams to play. Their work ethic and integrity is second to none. We have played in the championship game for the last three years and have always been treated first class.”

— Frank Turco, Athletic Director

Canterbury School

"Ensuring that my student-athletes can play in a structured and competitive conference is of the utmost importance to me. The Sunshine State Athletic Association has afforded us that opportunity. In this industry, communication is vital and the SSAA staff members do a great job keeping all of the athletic directors and coaches in the loop. This conference wants to grow and they work extremely hard to forge relationships with schools and companies. Bell Creek is proud to be a member school of the Sunshine State Athletic Association."

"Real Life Christian Academy has wanted to start a football program for quite a few years, but we are a small Christian School in Central Florida and knew we were not big enough to start an 11 man team. When the opportunity came for us to play "8 man" football, and in a "small school" environment that is Christian based, I knew it was a sign that NOW is the time. After talking to Stuart Weiss and Jason Smith, I KNEW this was the right fit for us. We had "nothing." They have helped us with scheduling, and even helped us with equipment to get started! Last year was our first season playing and WHAT A BLESSING!! Our boys and coaches loved it. Unfortunately, we had a lot of seniors on the team last year, so had to rebuild again this season. Many new boys came out for the team and are having a blast and making memories. It has been such fun and we are very thankful for the SSAA. Not only for providing an 8 man football league, but one where even small schools like ours can offer football for our boys. And more importantly....doing it the right way. With integrity and really caring about the boys and our small schools. It is great to be a part of this program!"
